Nice staff but the site itself is a mess. The day fields have been taken over by noisy, drunk minority groups who congregate for party time and ruin the camping experience. I was camping with my autistic son and we had to leave early because of the noise and disruption. The staff refused a refund and did NOTHING about the rabble, using helplessness as an excuse. This is a council run site and they really need to step in and take control again. Would NOT recommend which is such a shame because the surrounding woodlands are stunning.
Beautiful setting on the edge of Epping forest . Seems to be used to host a mix of learning skills / activities.This is an old Victorian rambling Manor house and would be the perfect back drop for a wedding venue . Right next door is the camping sight .An established and well run facility during the summer months .
A good place for a short family get away. Camping here could be fun. Bring out your tents!
absolutely love it. Cheers a great pitch which thankfully it was shaded as it was very hot. They have a nice cafe if you're not in the mood for cooking great place to buy a breakfast roll comma you can buy a wood here although in my experience the wood on site is never very good and always generates ridiculous amounts of smoke. we stay in the family field where it's quiet in the evening however if you're in the main field it can get very rowdy and very very noisy so I suggest you take your ear plugs
Had such a great time camping here, would recommend it to anyone with a tent! Huge site with different fields for families, open fires and of course there is a party field so if you don't like noise choose field 2. Will be going again and again.
