The facilities are good, but the swimming times prioritise the children's swimming lessons, therefore there's no space in the pool as they use half even when it advertises just swim... makes more money for the centre. Also the sauna/steam room were shut during lessons and there's no access when the pools not being used making it frustrating if you want one after a gym session. Got told to leave very abruptly and light turned off/door opened fully by one male staff member. Not happy, going to get my money back.
Went to aquatics. The stand in instructor was lovely and understanding that I had a replacement recently and was limited. She suggested I get into the deeper end of the pool. The next week was the regular instructor who was very different. I stood in the deeper end and it soon became I was in someones regular place, who happened to be well known and friendly with the instructor. They were discussing friends in common and children. The instructor seemed to find everything I did wrong. When I explained I had a new knee and couldn't do everything eg jump up and down yet, she brushed it off and told me I would never get fit if I didn't do it properly. I asked reception if there was a session with the first lady. He said next week the first lady is standing in again but all the places had gone as she is very popular. An embarrassing and humiliating experience. In the changing room I cried.
Very good gym. Lots if variety and options.
Never answer the phone when they are clearly doing nothing staff are rubbish only a few pts like Matt that are decent
Havent been here since the renovation, but theres a decent pool size at 25m. Note, it can get pretty busy. Will re-review when I go there soon for another swim! However, the aesthetic of the new build mirrors the old very nicely in wood and modern, dark colouring.
