Proper Pub with open fireplace, good beer. Excellent food at a reasonable price. Recommend
Good place to go. Warm and comfortable in winter. Cool and refreshing in summer. Good quality and value food.
Food is average and the staff need to be more on point! Had to ask twice for cutlery when food arrived. Which I have to say arrived far to quickly to be fresh and was very greasy. Let's put it this way, my stomach was not in a good place that evening. Such a pity as the pub is in a great location for families!
Lovely big beer garden where you can also have some food. They have a play area to keep children busy too. Lovely grounds to chill and have a drink.The food was ok, it won't blow you away but its not the worst either.They could also have larger selection of beers too.We also had to wait for an hour to order 1 dessert after we finished our dinner to because they had a big group for an event so they stopped all food orders even for people who have already been sitting and eating.
Comfortable though functional interior. Not much feeling put into it. Rather generic for such a good location. Carvery good but had to wait and hold up 12 people waiting for vegetables of all things. Great value tasty though maybe understaffed or possibly managing the staff and flow isn't in the company raining manual. Our waitress was brilliant but frazzled whilst i watched the other staff stand around chatting about personal details whilst ignoring the service aspect of such a busy place. Pitch in guys!! Laziness is not a quality one should admire. Physically a family area so we didn't have screaming children. If the parents can't be told then the responsibility lies politely on management to avoid unnecessary accident. Why would you let your children run riot through any place let alone a dining room. The 3 stars are for our table wagered m waitress and please outs an excellent value carvery ledge something. Even a pound would be pleasant to receive.
